What VOYJOY makes, and who it is for

Everything in this catalogue starts from a garment knitted to its shape rather than cut from cloth: the shorts, the leggings, the wide-leg pants, the bras and the tanks are the same nylon-and-spandex knit at a different length or with a different back. That is why the range is narrow and why the card can print the inseam.

Six shelves, and nearly everything on them is one knit at a different length or with a different back.

VOYJOY makes seamless activewear for women, and has done since 2022. The word seamless is doing real work in that sentence: nearly everything on these six shelves is knitted to its shape on a machine rather than cut from flat cloth and sewn, so the front of a leg and the side of a body carry no seam, and the one line on most pieces is the gathered seam at the centre back that the cards call a scrunch. Nylon makes up most of the knit, spandex the rest, and the exact blend is printed where our product data gives it.

What we make

Shorts are the shelf we are known for. The impact family is one short cut at four inseams, 2.5, 3.6, 4.5 and 6 inches, and sold here as four pieces because the length is the first choice you make and the colour is the second; around it sit the biker cuts, two of them with a pocket, and the pairs cut low on the hip for a cropped top. Leggings come as a straight scrunch pair at 24 and 26 inches, a mini flare that opens over a trainer, a capri and a split-hem pair. The wide-leg pants are a legging through the hip and a trouser from the knee, cut at 29, 31.5, 33 and 35 inches so the hem breaks on your shoe rather than above it.

Above the waist there are fourteen padded bras, sized by one letter and chosen by their back: strappy cross-backs, halters, twist fronts, a high neck, an open back and two strapless bandeaus. The tanks and crop tops carry the same removable pad and are worn without a bra; the crop tees and the long sleeve are double-lined so a pale colour is not sheer; two ballet wrap tops tie at the waist over a bra, and a half-zip goes on last. A pleated tennis skort with a short knitted in and a halter jumpsuit are the two pieces that fit on no other shelf.

Who it is for

You, if you train a few times a week and are tired of two things: a waistband that rolls at the top of a squat, and a photograph that showed a length you did not get. Both are fit problems, and both are why every card here prints numbers rather than adjectives. The hip and the bust are the two measurements that decide a letter on this site; the inseam is measured on the garment, from the crotch seam to the hem; the rise is named as high or low because the two behave differently in a squat and are bought by different measurements.

Most of the range is cut from XS to XL. The impact shorts and the straight wide-leg pants run from XXS to 3XL on every length, which is the widest run we make, and the card prints the run for each piece so you are never guessing from the shelf. Prices sit between eight and thirty dollars, which is the reason so many buyers own a piece in three colours, and the reason we would rather you bought one first and the colours second.

What we will and will not say

A card describes a garment: how it is knitted, where the seams are and are not, how high the band sits, how long the leg is, whether the pads come out. Words like sculpt and lift describe what the gathered seam does to the cloth. What a piece does for you in a mirror is yours to judge, and the pages leave it to you. Where a page touches a rule, the fibre label, the care label, the flammability standard clothing is sold under, it is written under a named public source, read on the date printed beside it.

The one verifiable thing we say about ourselves is the year, 2022. Everything else you might want to know about a piece is on its card, and how the figures on those cards are kept current is set out on how we update the catalogue.

About VOYJOY

What we make, who it is for, what separates a short with its inseam printed from one sold by a photograph, and how long we have been knitting it.

What does VOYJOY make?

Seamless activewear for women: scrunch shorts at four inseams, leggings and flares, wide-leg pants sold by inseam, padded sports bras and tanks, double-lined crop tees and long sleeves, two ballet wrap tops, a half-zip layer, a tennis skort and a jumpsuit. Six shelves, most of it knitted rather than cut and sewn, most of it between ten and thirty dollars.

Who is VOYJOY for?

Somebody who trains a few times a week and wants a short or a legging that stays where it is put through a squat, that comes in the length she meant to buy, and that costs little enough to own in more than one colour. The size runs are XS to XL on most cards and XXS to 3XL on the two largest families, and the bras are sized by one letter.

How long has VOYJOY been around?

VOYJOY has made seamless activewear since 2022, which is 4 years at the time of writing. The cuts have barely moved in that time; the colourways turn over every season and there are more than six hundred of them at our last update.

Is VOYJOY the same as the other brands with a scrunch short?

No, and the cards are how you can tell: the inseam is printed and the short is sold at four lengths as four pieces, the rise is named as high or low, the colourways are photographed as sold, and the size run on a card is the run the piece is actually cut in. A scrunch seam is a common idea; the numbers around it are what differ.

Where is VOYJOY sold?

Through our retail partner, which is where every buying button on this site opens, and where the size is chosen, the payment taken and any exchange handled. This site is the catalogue: what a piece is made of, how long it is, how it is cut and what it costs at our last update.

The catalogue is easiest to read from the piece you already know you need rather than from the price list. If you are starting from scratch, the front page of VOYJOY lays the six shelves out in order, and the sizing block on it settles the letter before you open a card.

How the prices and size runs on these pages are kept current is a separate question, and it is answered on how we update the catalogue.

Every VOYJOY length, every letter

Every inseam, colourway and size in the VOYJOY range sits behind this button, with the price from our last update against each one.
