01The shelf the brand is known for
Seamless scrunch shorts in four inseams, from a 2.5-inch booty short to a 6-inch biker, most of them in a ninety per cent nylon knit with ten per cent spandex, in the widest colour choice on the site.

Pick the length before you pick the colour: it is the one decision on this shelf that the photograph cannot make for you. The inseam runs from the crotch seam to the hem, so a 2.5-inch pair ends high on the thigh and a 6-inch pair ends a hand above the knee, with 3.6 and 4.5 in between. The knit is the same across the four, and so is the seam that gathers the fabric at the centre back, which is what the word scrunch means on a card: a line of ruching in the cloth, not a promise about you. Most of the shelf sits at a high rise, two families sit deliberately low, and two carry a pocket, one of them zipped, for a phone or a key. Sizes are XS to XL on most cards, and the largest family runs XXS to 3XL. A short is cut without ease, so if your hip measurement lands between two letters and you squat in them, take the larger.

Prices are the figures from our last update; a VOYJOY habit updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.
03Before you order
Which inseam stops where on your leg, what the scrunch seam is actually doing, and why the same short is sold at four lengths.
The inseam runs from the crotch seam to the hem, so it is a length on the garment rather than on you, but on most legs a 2.5-inch pair ends high on the thigh, a 3.6 a little lower, a 4.5 at about mid-thigh and a 6-inch pair a hand above the knee. If you are tall, everything sits a touch higher; if you are short, a 4.5 does the job most people buy a 6 for.
On the largest family, yes: one knit, one waistband and one scrunch seam, cut to four inseams and sold in the same colours, which is why the site gives each length its own page rather than hiding the choice in a menu. The other families on this shelf are their own cuts, and their cards say what differs: a low rise, a zipped pocket, a V-shaped waistband, a sandwashed finish.
A low rise sits on the hip rather than at the waist, so the band has less to hold on to and the letter matters more than on a high-rise pair. Buy it by the hip measurement and it stays where it is put; buy it by the waist and it rides. Two families on this shelf are cut low on purpose, and both cards say so before the price.
